The not so greedy

Lately Adam and I have both been lamenting over the doom and gloom that is constantly discussed, alluded to, or commercialized (who hasn't seen a commercial mentioning the "economic crisis?").

Now, please do not take offense. I have definitely seen many lives around us affected by the downturn in our economy. But I think sometimes the media just makes the problem worse by focusing on it. Are some companies laying people off in fear of what they hear might be happening? Or taking the opportunity to cut a little without anyone questioning? And because people are constantly hearing about the bad economy, do they unnecessarily change some behaviors? Are they more depressed and stressed than necessary?

So among all the depressing headlines, I found this article. Read it and smile. I know I did.

Can I have one? Can I? Can I?

Griffey may be coming home!

Since becoming a Gomez, I have been trying really hard to embrace the sport of baseball. But seriously...it's sooooooo long and just not very exciting. (Sorry Adrian, but now that your back at UW I promise to come watch. Plus now that you'll be playing I'm sure I'll find some love for the game).

However as a born and raised Washingtonian I am very excited to see that Ken Griffey Jr. may soon be returning to Seattle. My excitement for Griffey's return is more of nostalgia then thinking what it could mean for the Mariner's stats. As a little girl I remember going to Mariner's games in the Kingdom. Johnson would be pitching, and Griffey playing in the outfield. I think my favorite part was eating peanuts faster than my Dad could crack them! But I also remember how you could just feel the excited everyone was. We were the Seattle Mariner's and we had one of the best pitchers and outfielder/hitters in the league. So here's to the good old days and the good days to come.
