Learning to share

Sam's friend Lucy has been coming to play lately and they are already learning how to share.

Finally made a decision

Obviously it's been awhile since I posted anything on our blog. And the reason was more than just laziness. We debated making our blog private now that we have Sam. But in thinking it over, we realized the point of the blog is to stay connected with family/friends far away. Keeping it public allows the less tech savvy family (aka grandparents) easier access to all things Sam. After all now that we finally have Sam we finally have reasons to update this old thing! Here's a blog cheat of the last few months with our little man!

The birth story

Sam's arrival

4 months

Sam at 4 months:

• 4-month check-up stats: 26 inches and 13 lbs. 7 oz.
• Will roll from back to front about once a day...if you're not looking
• Loves sitting in his bumbo
• Sings when I play the piano
• LOVES his toy giraffe and musical giraffe
• Loves chilling under the play gym, of course the giraffe is still his favorite. He must relate to the tall and skinny thing :)
• Coos and smiles lots
• Knows his mommy :)
• Eats every 3 hours now!
• Sucks his left index and middle finger
• Will talk himself to sleep
• Sleeps on his side, with his hands above his head or on his face
• Now loves all parts of bathtime
• Is a bottomless pit. He will down an 8 oz bottle AFTER a full feeding
• Smiled at the nurse as she prepped him for his shots and only cried a little from shock and pain of the shots

3 months

After a long night he finds rest in mom and dad's bed

Sam at 3 months:

• Makes a face of surprise after the first sip or two from the bottle then CHUGS it down
• Now eats every 2 1/2 hours
• Loves to snuggle with mom in bed in the morning
• Has decided that we had it too easy in the beginning and gets up every 4 hours at night now to eat but still falls asleep right after eating
• Found his thumb, but just once. He prefers his fingers
• Has a deer in the headlights look if he sees the camera
• Loves playing with Daddy when he gets home at night

2 months

Mushu and Sam have an unspoken arrangement...neither exist.

Sam at 2 months:

• 2 month check-up stats: 24 inches; 10 lbs 3 oz
• Eats every 2 hours still for about an hour each time!
• Falls asleep on his own with minimal fuss
• Loves his swing
• Loves looking at the lights during sacrament meeting
• Does a 5-6 hour stretch at night
• Loves to be outside
• Smiles, but rarely for the camera
• Loves baths, but not the getting out and drying off part
• Is a great snuggler
• Loves music, if he's fussy he'll always calm down to music

1 month

Sam at 1 month:

• Eats then sleeps then eats then sleeps
• Knows his nights and days (thank you son!)
• Has great aim ;) Sorry about that Mushu
• Loves to chill outside in his carrier
• Sooo sweet...everyone tells us so!
