It rhymes with toy

Confused? Well today we had a very important appointment. No, we didn't meet with our accountant to discuss our lottery winnings. Better...we found out if I am incubating a sweet baby Adam or a sassy little Sara. We didn't have to wait long, the ultrasound technician even laughed when she showed us his first picture. I believe the quote was something like "Well this little guy is quick to show off his boy-parts."

Now comes the hard part (well other than giving birth and becoming parents to this little guy for eternity)...picking out a name. For now it's just baby boy.

*Oh and this isn't the gender picture, we are trying to teach modesty at an early age. He was very cooperative until it was time for the profile picture for mom. So this was the best we could get. His cute little bum will be saved for future embarrassment.

Boy or Girl?

I just realized this time next week we will know if the baby is a boy or girl! I can't believe I'm almost half-way through this pregnancy. I've been really lucky and had pretty much no morning (afternoon or evening) sickness. I really am sorry for those of you who have/had it bad. And I'm sure I'll get it really bad next time so find peace in that. Or you can just hate me, I know it's just out of jealousy and not spite ;) I've just recently begun to feel pregnant. And I definitely look it! No, I have not been taking weekly or monthly shots of my stomach. #1 our camera was stolen. #2 I do not like to subject myself to personal torture or humiliation. Besides getting bigger, I've been getting really sharp pains sporadically. Hopefully those go away soon, they are not very fun. Anyone know what they are? Their on the upper part of my stomach, often right around my ribs. They are distinctively different than the ligament stretching pain I get on my sides.

On to more fun topics of pregnancy...SHOPPING! It's probably a good thing I postponed the appointment until after the holiday, otherwise I don't think I'd be able to resist a weekend with my mom, sister, and sales. I know at least Adam thinks so! Plus the lists and research that I used to think would be easy to navigate are overwhelming me lately. How can something so little need so much stuff? And why can't people agree on what is necessary, what isn't, and what the best brand is on it all?

Back to the current hot topic. We know we are having a baby-Gomez.

Okay, side tangent: When I made my first appointment and you go through the long list of questions my naive self had to laugh when the conversation went like this:
Nurse: "Are you married?"
Me: "Yes"
Nurse: "Is your husband the father?
Me: "Um of course, does anyone say no"
Nurse: "I haven't received a no, but I've only been doing this a month, apparently we have received no's or I'm not sures"

Sorry, I thought I had called my OB, I didn't realize I was taking a survey with Maury Povich!

Okay, tangent over. Now where was I?? Oh yes the poll I just posted. Boy or girl? And no not one of each. Not yet at least.

Guess I should explain the ticker

So I think it's old news by now, especially since I think there are like 3 people total that read this sad little blog (I know I always call it sad and pathetic...because it is). But yes, that ticker does say baby in front of it. We are finally giving Mushu a playmate and becoming real blog-worthy by having a baby ticker and ultrasound pictures to post.

Estimated day of arrival: April 23rd.

Bathroom Etiquette

One of the advantages of working at a technical company, there tends to be more men than woman. With that comes the fact that while my husband complains that the men's bathroom is always occupied and somebody is having IBS, I usually have the place to myself.

HOWEVER one day while doing my thing someone came in. No biggie...I had taken the first stall, there were 5 others to choose from. So what does this person do? Choose the furthest one away? No! Choose the third stall? NO! They enter the one right next to me, leaving the other 4 down the line absolutely empty! As I boiled over with annoyance I thought about how many times this happens. Many of the once common etiquettes are dying, like opening the door, saying excuse me, etc. But seriously...it's not just courtesy it's common decency when you enter a public bathroom you go AT LEAST every other. I do not need to sit next to you. I do not intend to pass notes to you. Nor do I need to be within hearing distance. Come on people?! So with that I challenge anyone who hasn't given up on my poor little blog to test your bathroom etiquette knowledge. And for your own sake and mine, if you enter the bathroom while I am there, remember the seating arrangement is AT LEAST EVERY OTHER!

And if you fail miserably, check out The International Center for Bathroom Etiquette.

Nothing is better than great music

I just love this! I've always liked Jon Schmidt. Plus "Love Story" is one of mine and Adam's songs. So I cheesily dedicate this to my cute hubby.

*Random sidenote...we have so many songs we love and consider "ours." So it's funny what we ended up using for our first dance. Not at all a song we listen to or get excited when we hear it! Oh well I guess that's what happens when the groom only has 20 minutes to pick out music for the wedding!
